Shatrughan Sinha born as Shatrughan Prasad Sinha on December 9 1945  is an Indian film actor and politician in Patna, Bihar. He was educated in Patna Science College and was an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India Pune. He moved to Bombay where he started his career in the film industry. Shatrughan Sinha  first acting opportunity was playing a Pakistani Military Officer in Dev Anand’s Prem Pujari. He began his career by playing villainous roles and was immensely successful in portraying stylised villains such as the one in the movie Raampur Ka Lakshman.

Shatrughan Sinha  then switched over to playing the main lead with Subhash Ghai’s Kalicharan and was even more successful in solo starrers as well as multi-starrers. Apart from having an illustrious career as an actor playing different roles Shatrughan Sinha also has also sung many of his songs on screen for films like Kashmakash, Dost and Do Naari among many others.Shatrughan Sinha’s home production Aaj Phir Jeene ki tamanna hai under the banner of Shotgun Films his home production Aaj Phir Jeene ki tamanna hai under the banner of Shotgun Films.

Shatrughan was selected by Rediff as one of the most unconventional actors in Hindi Cinema and is known for his powerful screen presence. He portrayed Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra. There’s a scholorship being awarded on his name in the institute to Diploma students In 2008, Shatrughan Sinha  joined as a judge for The Great Indian Laughter Challenge show, Season 4 on STAR One TV. On 3 October 2009, he appeared on Sony Entertainment Television Asia Show Dus Ka Dum Season 2 as host for a special episode.

Shatrughan Sinha is considered one of the most successful actor politician of India, having made history by being the first member of the film fraternity to become a cabinet minister with the Government of India. He has held two portfolios, the department of health, and the department of shipping.Shatrughan Sinha  is still a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and campaigns for the party all over India and is well known as a leader of the masses and a brilliant orator.
