Rishi Kapoor, the second son of Raj Kapoor has made tremendous contribution to the Hindi film industry. Rishi Kapoor alias Chintu was always passionate about acting was born on 4th September 1952, in the legendary Kapoor family.He is the second son of the veteran actor and director Raj Kapoor. His brother Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor have been celebrated actors of the film fraternity.

Rishi Kapoor started his career when he was in his teens, playing his father’s role as a child, in the well-known movie ‘Mera Naam Joker’. With the acting skills in his genes and a knack of creativity, he struck jackpot from the very start of his career. Rishi Kapoor bagged the lead role for his father’s next home production ‘Bobby’, opposite Dimple Kapadia which was an instant hit amongst youngsters. Two hit releases back to back for a newcomer like him set his hold in the star world immediately.

He has, since then, played the lead role romancing young heroines till the year 2000 with the delayed release of Karobaar: The Business of Love.Rishi Kapoor moved on to supporting roles with Hum Tum (2004) and Fanaa (2006). He also directed a film Aa Ab Laut Chalen in 1998 starring Rajesh Khanna, Aishwarya Rai, Akshaye Khanna, He appeared in Namaste London and an English-language film titled Don’t Stop Dreaming which was directed by his cousin Aditya Raj Kapoor (son of actor Shammi Kapoor).

Rishi Kapoor acted with the veteran actor Kamal Haasan in Saagar which was officially sent to the Oscars. Rishi has acted in the movie ‘Chintu Ji’ in which he plays himself. The film has references that pertain to Raj Kapoor, his father, his mother, his wife and his earlier films like Chandni, Mera Naam Joker and others. Rishi Kapoor worked with another major star in the 70s, Amitabh Bachchan, in Yash Chopra’s Kabhi Kabhie (1976) Ramesh Sippy’s Sagar (1985) saw him paired with his co-star from Bobby, Dimple Kapadia.

Nagina (1986) with Sridevi was again a major hit. One of his biggest hits in 1989 was Chandni with Sridevi. Rishi Kapoor re-united onscreen with Dimple Kapadia in Pyaar Mein Twist (2005). Rishi Kapoor married actress Neetu Singh in 1980. They have two children Ranbir and Ridhima. Ranbir Kapoor was launched as an actor in Bollywood with Saawariya. In his career spanning to almost four decades now, Rishi Kapoor the Prince Charming of Bollywood has done loads of movies and has been concerned with almost all the departments of film-making be it acting, direction, editing or even sound departments.
