Jackie Shroff , real name Jaikishen Kakubhai Shroff, born on 1 February 1957 in the Gujerati-speaking Shroff His dad’s name is Kakubhai, family.Avegetarian, aikishen made his acting debut in a bit-role when he was just 13 years old in the 1973 hit film’HeeraPanna’ introduced by Dev Anand in his film. He then went on to act in another Dev Anand starer, ‘Swami Dada”.

It was Subhash Ghai, who signed Jackie Shroff up for the 1983 hit ‘Hero’ that catapulted this handsome young man to stardom. This film was a huge hit and made him a star overnight Jackie Shroff was often paired with another leading actor Anil Kapoor and together they gave many hit films like “Karma” “Ram Lakhan” and “Parinda.

Though Jackie Shroff has given a number of successful films but Filmfare Award eluded him for a long time. Jackie won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1990 for his performance in the film “Parinda”.

Jackie Shroff made great mark in the films “Angaar” where he plays a youth, frustrated with crime and corruption and in film “Gardish” where his portrayal of a common man taking on the criminal elements in society. His other memorable movies are “Tridev”, “Khalnayak”, “1942 a Love Story” “Rangeela” and “Devdas”.

Even though Jackie Shroff had success mostly in supporting roles, Jackie did gain recognition from audiences as well as critics for his performances. Jackie Shroff went on to win Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in the films “1942 a Love Story” and “Devdas”. Jackie appeared as supporting actor in the hit comedy films such as “Apna Sapna Money Money” and “Bhagam Bhag”.

Jackie Shroff has appeared in a variety of character-roles, villain, comedian, and even as a ghost in ‘Bhoot Unkle’. Jackie Shroff also acted in Tamil and Telugu movies. Jackie Shroff married his longtime girlfriend Ayesha Dutt, on June 5, 1987. Ayesha is also a producer and both husband and wife run Jackie Shroff Entertainment Limited.

They have a son, Jai Hemant Shroff and a daughter Krishna Shroff. Jackie Shroff has been in the industry for more than 30 years and has appeared in over 170 films.
