Bujjigadu Made In Chennai Movie Review
Puri Jagannath finally gives hero Prabhas something to smile about. The film should finally end Prabhas' dry run at the box office. Puri Jagannath, with consecutive hits Desamuduru and Chirutha under his belt, has directed Prabhas in the lead role. Prabhas' great performance should now set him firmly on the path to bigger hits. Bujjigadu Made In Chennai, means exactly that. It has been shot mainly in the now defunct Binny Mills, parts of Ennore and other parts of Chennai. This is the third film in which Prabhas and Trisha appear together after Varsham and Pournami.

The story is pretty simple. Bujji and Chitti are school-going children living in Visakhapatnam. Chitti gets angry with Bujji over some trivial issue and tells him that she will not speak with him for 12 years. If Bujji can stick to it, then she will marry him.

Bujji leaves home and settles in Chennai, becoming a goonda and big Rajnikanth fan. The producer
has capitalized on the fan following that Superstar Rajinikanth has among both Telugu as well as Tamil audiences. With this in mind, the hero's accent has traces of Tamil coupled with East Godavari region slang. After the stipulated 12 years, Bujji (Prabhas) comes back to Visakhapatnam in search of his love. But he learns that Chitti (Trisha) is now in Hyderabad. Bujji also comes in contact with the gang of Kota and his sons. He is offered one crore rupees to kill Shivanna (Dr. Mohan Babu), a rival of Kota.

Bujji agrees to do the job and comes to Hyderabad. He is now in search of Chitti as well as Shivanna. He tries to kill Shivanna, but is grievously injured while fighting with him and his goons. But Shivanna takes a liking for Bujji, takes him home and gets him treated.

Predictably, Shivanna turns out to be Chitti's brother. He learns that Bujji is actually the person that his sister Chitti has been waiting for since 12 years. But Shivanna pleads with Bujji not to reveal his identity to Chitti. Why? Does Bujji agree to this condition? What happens next? That forms the crux of the story.

Popular detective novelist, Madhubala has provided the script. The film is an out-and-out Prabhas show. He gives a good account of himself in all the departments - acting, comedy, dance, fights and style. Trisha looks cute and glamorous. Mohan Babu could have done better but was restricted by the script.

Sanjana is okay. The rest go about their roles in a routine manner. Puri Jagannath's son Master Aakash and daughter Baby Pavitra make cameo appearances. The music is average while the camera work is outstanding. One song devoted to Prabhas' fixation with the Superstar has many references in Tamil. This song captures the mood of the carefree hero, who has come to watch Rajinikanth's movie first-day-first-show. Two new voices, Mark Lazaro and Anaida, have sung the 'Thalaiva' number that is a mixture of Telugu and Tamil lingo. The peppy lines were written by Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar. Fight master Vijayan has composed very outstanding fight sequences with Prabhas and other junior artists.

The film is average but should please Prabhas' fans immensely. Puri finally gives what Prabhas has been desperately looking for - a vehicle to showcase his acting skills.
