Ashutosh Rana, born on 10th January 1964 as Ashutosh Jaisingh Neekhra , is an Indian actor working in the Hindi Film Industry and the Telugu Film Industry. Rana is from Gadarwara, Madhya Pradesh, which is also known as the city of Osho. There he was known as Ashutosh Neekhra. He spent his childhood in Gadarwara where he finished his primary school. He used to play the role of Ravana in the city Ramleela Nautanki. Later in the advice of spiritual guru, Pandit Sree Dev Prabhakar Shastri he went to the National School of Drama, Delhi and studied acting.

Ashutosh Rana , the very talented actor had worked for many years on the stage before he set foot in Bombay, Ashutosh started his career with popular TV serial Swabhimaan and went forth for other serials including Farz, Sazish, Kabhi Kabhi, Waris. He also anchored the TV show, Bazi Kiski once upon a time. In 2010 he appeared in a Star Plus show, Kaali- Ek Agnipariksha where he portrayed a negative character.

Ashutosh`s first Bollywood film was Sanshodhan in1996 but it failed to make a mark. He became a popular face on Indian Cinema scene after his movie Dushman He became known in Indian Cinema after his movie Dushman where he played a cold blooded murderer and psychopath killer.

Movies like LOC Kargil, Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo and Shabnam Mausi, where he explored the traumas of his acting. Apart from Bollywood he has also acted in Telegu movies like Venky (2004) Bangaram (2006) and Okka Magadu (2008).

Ashutosh Rana is married to Renuka Shahane, also a Bollywood actress. They have two sons named Shauryaman and Satyendra. His native language is Bundeli but he speaks fluent Urdu, English, Telugu.

Ashutosh received Filmfare Best Villain Award for Dushman in 1999 and Sangharsh in 2000.
