Aftab Shivdasani Profile

Aftab Shivdasani is an Indian film actor working in Bollywood film industry. He was born in Mumbai, India, born on 25 June, 1978. His father, Prem Shivdasani, is a Hindu while his mother, Sherry, was a Parsi before she married her husband. Aftab has an older sister named Afsana Shivdasani. He has an older sister Afsana.

Aftab Shivdasani’s school years were spent in St Xavier’s High School. He completed college with a degree from H.R. College of Commerce.

Aftab Shivdasani’s first brush with the glamour world was at the age of 14 months when he was selected as the Farex baby (Baby food brand) and from that point on, Aftab shot for many TV commercials. Aftab was a fairly well-known child star in the late 1980s and early 1990s.  He first made his Bollywood debut as a kid in Mr India, then appearing in films such as Shahenshah, Chaalbaaz and Insaniyat.

Aftab Shivdasani continued modeling in commercials till the age of 19 until he finally got a break to play the lead role in a film. It was his impish portrayals in Coke and Nestle Bar One ads that caught the creative eye of Ramgopal Varma who needed the same innocent character in his movie, ‘Mast’.

Aftab’s debut film was Mast opposite Urmila Matondkar. He got a Film Fare Award as a New Comer for this film. Then he did Kasoor opposite Lisa Ray. This was a thriller movie in which he had done a negative role. All the songs of this film was super hit.

Till now Aftab Shivdasani had done different roles in his films. He always wanted to be a versatile actor. Aftab Shivdasani has been moderately successful in Bollywood by acting multi starrer movies; he has set up his own production house.
